Privacy Policy

Overview

Capid is a client-side financial simulator. We do not create user accounts, do not require registration, and do not collect or store personal information on our servers. This policy explains what limited data exists and how it is handled.

Data you enter into the simulator

The financial inputs you provide — such as income, savings, age, and contribution amounts — are processed entirely within your browser. This data is stored in sessionStorage, which is automatically cleared when you close the tab or browser window. It is never transmitted to Capid servers and is not accessible to us.

Infrastructure and server logs

Like all websites, Capid is served through web hosting infrastructure. Our hosting provider may automatically collect standard server log data, including IP addresses, browser user agents, and page request timestamps. This data is collected and retained by the infrastructure provider under their own privacy policy — Capid does not access or use it for any purpose. We do not run advertising pixels or sell tracking data.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

Capid uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate usage patterns — for example, which pages are visited and how visitors arrive at the site. GA4 collects limited information through your browser, including a randomized client identifier, IP address (which Google truncates and does not store in GA4), device and browser type, referring URL, and pages viewed. We do not use GA4 to track individual users or build advertising profiles, and we have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, or remarketing. The financial inputs you enter into the simulator are never sent to Google. Data collected by GA4 is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by enabling Do Not Track / blocking analytics in your browser.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) used to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. Capid does not set any other cookies and does not use cookies for advertising. You can clear or block these cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Third-party sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. The only third party that receives data from your visit is Google, solely for the analytics purposes described above.

California residents (CCPA)

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. Because Capid does not collect or sell personal information, these rights have limited practical application here. If you have questions, contact us at team@capid.app.

Children under 13

Capid is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we collect no personal data, Capid is not directed at children and is not subject to COPPA obligations. If you believe a child has provided information through our service, contact us and we will investigate.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if our data practices change — for example, if we introduce user accounts or analytics. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
